Although it might seem kind of random, this giant pineapple made out of plastic is actually pretty cool. Located on a pineapple farm near Nambour, the Big Pineapple has attracted many a visitor in its day. I mean, who could resist going inside a huge Pineapple? As well as tours around the pineapple farm, there is a gift shop and an ice cream place that seves some of the best sundaes ever. So go check it out. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

Just like the Civic is a smaller version of the plaza, Aussie World is in many ways a smaller version of Dreamworld. This miniature theme park has some interesting rides, although not nearly as many as Dreamworld. What it is more famous for is its Ettamogah pub, located right outside the park. Inside the park, however, is family friendly and does make for a good day. It also has the facilities for paintball if you feel the urge to have a game with some friends. Another great place to go shopping if you are in the Noosa area and do not really feel like driving all the way down to Maroochydore is Noosa Civic. This newly built mini-plaza is great if you just want to spend a little time shopping or if you know exactly what you need. It has a number of stores, including a Woolworths and Big W as well as some smaller, more specialized stores. It also even has its own little food court. Despite not being as big as the Sunshine Plaza, it does fill the need for a lot of things and it is great convenience wise. So if you ever need something, but don’t feel like making the drive to Maroochydore, just stop by the Civic instead.

World’s Greatest Shave

The World’s Greatest Shave is an interesting and great way to do some charity work. The way this event works is you pledge to either dye or shave your hair off then you get people to sponsor you to do it. All the money then goes to help people with leukaemia. The dates for the official shaving or dying of the hair are March 11-13. Heaps of people on the Sunshine Coast have already signed up to do it. Why not you too? Easterfest

Although this event is not actually on the Sunshine Coast (it happens in Toowoomba every year), it is an awesome event to go to. Every year on Easter weekend Easterfest, which used to be called AGMF (Australian Gospel Music Festival) kicks off for a grand weekend of fun, excitement, and a whole bunch of Christian bands. Some of the big names coming this year include: Newsboys (with their new lead singer Michael Tait), Hawk Nelson, Sanctus Real, Superchick, and KJ-52. There are, of course, heaps of other bands and artists, as well as some pretty sweet shows, such as the Red Frogs fancy pants ball and the Chris Wayne illusion spectacular. Shoot ‘Em Up

So most of us know that it is not a good idea to shoot someone with a real gun. However, it is a whole lot of fun to shoot them with a laser (or at least laser pointer thing). Zone 3 is a great place to take some of your friends and have an awesome game of laser tag. You can do it in teams or have one huge game of free for all. It is great fun and in between games there are plenty of arcade games to keep everybody amused as well as a snack bar if you are feeling peckish. So check it out. Say Hello to “Big Bob”

“Big” Bob Abbott can often be seen walking around Tewantin and even Boreen Point, shopping at the local shops and talking to many of the people around. He went from being the mayor of Noosa to the mayor of the entire Sunshine Coast using the phrase “Big Bob for the Big Job.” Despite the major move up, he definitely has not lost his down to earth and friendly manner. So the next time you happen to see him around town, take the time to say hello.

Are you a rollercoaster fan? Well, Dreamworld definitely has lots of roller-coasters. Although it is located on the Gold Coast, it is a great place to go for a family day, especially if your family loves riding roller-coasters and rides. There are fast rides, slower rides, rides that drop you from way up high, all sorts. Also, there are shows and events throughout the day, and even a special area for the kids. Australia Zoo

If you want to see all of Australia’s amazing animals all in one place the Australia Zoo is the perfect place to go. Founded by Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, the Australia Zoo is home to many of Australia’s unique wildlife, as well as a number of other types of creatures. Keep Australia Clean

Today was the annual clean up Australia day, where people from all around band together to pick up rubbish and clean up Australia. It is a great even to be a part of and if you missed out on being part of an official group, all of which gathered at different locations, do not despair because you can still do your part. All you have to do is get out there and pick up some rubbish and keep the Sunshine Coast, and Australia, as beautiful as ever.
